Nut replacement may be necessary when the nut is broken , nut slots are worn or cut incorrectly. Once the nut is removed the slot needs to be cleaned of all glues and imperfections.
Sometimes the bottom of the slot is cut at a radius and the new nut blank has to be cut to match.
The string spacing is now calculated and slotted with gauged files.
