The truss rod in this Rickenbacker would not tighten. The threads of the rod had been stripped, most likely from adjusting the neck without clamping it into position.
First I loosened the bolt and slid the rod out of the neck. Next I cut off the old threads, shaped and re-cut the threads. Then I reinstalled the rod, clamped the neck into place and tightened the rod. Once done it worked good as new.
